Fight Against Cuts to hit Capitol Hill Tuesday(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)With negotiations on the fiscal showdown coming down to the wire and vital services at risk, workers will come together on Tuesday to fight back. Activists will call on Congress not to cut vital services like Medicare and Medicaid, and instead make the richest Americans pay their fair share in taxes. The lobbying, rallies, press conferences and more across the country over the past few months have had "a major impact on the debate, and we can't let up" says AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka.
