Union Retirees Hit Street, Phones for Obama(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Over 100 Maryland, DC and Virginia retirees with the Alliance for Retired Americans have volunteered at the NoVA CLC for political action over the last two months, walking, phone banking and assisting in the office. “AFL-CIO retired staffers were particularly active,” reports Frank Stella, Maryland Alliance president. Other union retiree volunteers have also turned out to phone bank at the AFL-CIO headquarters, as well as at the Baltimore Teachers Union and SEIU Baltimore locals who have also focused on VA and other swing states. - photo: Rusty Griffis, retired IBEW Local 26 member, Maryland Alliance member and Maryland resident; photo courtesy of MD-DC ARA
