IATSE 22 Urges Support for Fully Funding Arts in the District(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)With arts funding in the nation’s capital facing “devastating cuts,” IATSE Local 22 is calling on area activists and artists to demand that the City Council keep funding the arts. “Keeping the arts fully funded in the District benefits the District economy overall,” says IATSE 22 President Chuck Clay, “as well as providing the potential for union employment.” In the past three years the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities budget has been cut by 70%, according to Local 22.
