DCNA Donates to ShoeBox Project; Deadline Extended

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The DC Nurses Association contributed over 70 personal care kits to the United Way ShoeBox Project this week. The kits include DCNA sticker-studded re-usable plastic boxes, “A great way to promote the union while helping the needy,” says Community Services Agency Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy, who’s been coordinating labor donations to the Project. “Many thanks to Brenda King, DCNA Legislative Liaison (in photo) for organizing this amazing effort,” McKirchy added. “Nurses do it right!” The deadline for donating items is June 1 but McKirchy says items can be donated through Monday to CSA which will then pass them on to United Way next week.  Email McKirchy at Kmckirchy@dclaborarchives.org
