Walker Recall Going Down to the Wire
Wednesday, May 30, 2012(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
Working
families across the country have been joining together in unprecedented ways to
stand up to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and his radical, anti-worker politics.
With Election Day less than a week away "It's going to take a collective effort
from all our brothers and sisters to show Gov. Walker and his right-wing backers
that they cannot divide and conquer the labor movement and the middle class,"
says Metro Council President Jos Williams. "Here’s how you can help: the
AFL-CIO is hosting a phonebank to Wisconsin working families this week, daily
10a-8p at the AFL-CIO, 815 16th Street NW." Show up anytime or email epark@aflcio.org. Phones are also available
in Gaithersburg at UFCW 1994; contact Josh Ardison (240-750-9699 / jardison@mcgeo.org). "Your support is
crucial to making sure working families are victorious on June 5," says
Williams. When you go, send us a photo -- streetheat@dclaborarchives.org
-- and we'll run it in Union City!
