Labor On The Move: DC JWJ's Baris Goes National

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)DC Jobs with Justice Executive Director Mackenzie Baris is going national. Baris
– who has led the local JwJ since shortly after it was founded in 2002, will
be the Northeast Regional Organizer for national Jobs with Justice. “I’ll
still be based here in DC,” Baris tells Union City, “but working to support the development of our
coalitions in the north, from Philadelphia to Maine.” Baris adds that she’s
“very excited to be able to use what I’ve learned here in DC to help build
our national movement for worker justice.” Metro Council President Jos
Williams thanked Baris for her “incredible dedication, vision and
enthusiasm” at DC JwJ. “You’ve been a constant inspiration to all of us
and have made DC Jobs with Justice a major player in the struggle for economic
