How to Help Protect Worker Rights in Ohio

Friday, November 4, 2011

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)You don’t have to go to Ohio to help fight for collective bargaining rights there. The AFL-CIO is running phonebanks through next Tuesday to help get out the vote -- seen as a key test of the labor movement -- for the referendum revoking S.B. 5, the anti-worker bill supported by Gov. John Kasich and passed by the state legislature earlier this year that effectively eliminated collective bargaining for public employees. The phone bank is open to 4p this afternoon and weekend hours will be announced soon; watch our website for the latest info. To volunteer or get more information, contact Tara Mitchell. - photo by Julia Kann
