Nominations Open for "Distinguished DC Government Employee" Award

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Public servants have become popular targets for right-wing budget-cutters but the Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation wants to celebrate “the extraordinary service and commitment of public employees who – often working behind the scenes – provide outstanding service to the residents of Washington, DC.” Cafritz is seeking nominations for the 11th annual Distinguished DC Government Employees. You can nominate yourself or someone you know for the 2012 award. The five winners selected will receive a $7,500 cash award and be publicly honored at a gala event next May.
