CWA Leader Rallies Strike Support in NOVA(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Blasting Verizon's national ad campaign calling for the elimination of 50 years of negotiated contracts, CWA President Larry Cohen yesterday rallied over 300 “loud and proud union members and their families” yesterday at the Broad Run High School in Ashburn VA, reports NOVA Labor President Dan Duncan. Cohen “said this was clear battle to save America's middle class,” adds Duncan. Also speaking at the rally were CWA 2222 President Jim Hilleary, Virginia AFL-CIO President Doris Crouse-Mays, and CWA Vice President for Telecommunications and Technologies Ralph Maly. The Asburn protest is just one of many protests planned for this week.
