Koch Party Tonight Explores Impact of Corporate Cash on Worker Rights(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Corporate America's role in redefining the labor movement and worker's rights is the focus of Koch Party tonight at Busboys & Poets. This monthly series is designed to raise awareness around issues traditionally championed by organized labor, in this case, the impact of corporate money on worker's rights. Andy Kroll, staff writer at Mother Jones, and Will Robinson, founding partner at the New Media Firm political consulting agency, will explore how conservatives across the country – like the infamous Koch brothers -- have been hard at work trying to dismantle the middle class by diminishing collective bargaining rights and how the situation in Wisconsin foretells the expanding role played by groups with murky ties to wealthy corporate executives as they push a conservative agenda. Koch Party starts at 6p at Busboys & Poets, 5th & K Streets; after the panelists share their thoughts and opinions, the floor will be open for what's expected to be a lively Q&A session.
