Celebrate the April 15 birthday of A. Philip Randolph, civil rights leader and founder of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters (born in Crescent City, FL 4/15/1889, as noted in Labor History) by ordering your tickets for the A. Philip Randolph Institute Annual Birthday Celebration Dinner/Dance on Saturday, 4/23. APRI is an organization of black trade unionists dedicated to fighting for racial equality and economic justice; the dinner raises funds for APRI community services including a scholarship fund, Adopt-A-School, voter registration and GOTV.
