JUFJ To Honor Williams

Jews United for Justice will present the 2005 Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel Vision award to Jos Williams and the Metro Washington Council AFL-CIO "for being a steadfast ally for justice in our community." Awards will also be given to Heather Booth "for a lifetime of working for social justice" and to Margie Klein, "a young emerging leader for her work on the Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride." JUFJ's spring community fundraiser will be held at the 6th & I Historic Synagogue in Chinatown with a reception at 6:30P and awards ceremony at 7:30P. African-American Jewish comedian Aaron Freeman will be the master of ceremonies. Singer/Songwriter Laura Baron will also perform. A commemorative program book will be designed for the event.
