Sian Lewis is this week’s Quote Contest winner, correctly identifying American socialist leader and writer Daniel DeLeon as the source of the 1903 quote: "The capitalist class is interested in keeping the workingmen divided among themselves.  Hence it foments race and religious animosities that come down from the past.” A Phillip Randolph also got a couple votes. Honorable mentions to Alan L. Freeman, Loretta Kane, Scott Wilson (who reminds us that DeLeon was one of the founders of the IWW), Jordan Barab, Mark Cohen, Rami Elamine, Jennifer L. Hinchey, Bob Lucore, Martha Mountain (who, noting that “The man was nothing if not prolific!” helpfully provided a link to an archive of DeLeon’s writings, Hunter Phillips, J.W. Daniel, Asantewaa Nkrumah-Ture & Bill Henning.
