DOD Workers Fight For Rights

In the first of many such demonstrations here and across the country, hundreds of Department of Defense (DOD) workers marched on Capitol Hill today to protest the Bush Administration's attack on worker's rights throughout the federal workforce. “Let’s be clear,” said AFL-CIO President John Sweeney, “The proposed changes in civil service rules are a wholesale attack on Defense workers’ ability to get their jobs done.” Following Tuesday’s press conference, march and rally, the United Department of Defense Workers Coalition organized lobbying visits with members of Congress on the issue.
