Strathmore Music Hall Workers Settle Contract

The IATSE Local 22 Stagehands at the Strathmore Music Hall settled a contract last Wednesday night after almost a year of negotiations, clearing the way for Saturday night’s gala opening of the newly-constructed Montgomery County-sponsored arts center. Metro Council President Jos Williams and Local 22 President Chuck Clay credited Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan’s 11th-hour intervention with preserving a “harmonious working relationship with Strathmore Music Hall” by finalizing the 3-year contract. “This proves that when unions stand together, unions get good results,” said IATSE Local 22 President I. Chuck Clay.
