Metro Council President Jos Williams has raised a series of questions with DC City Administrator Robert Bobb in the wake of last week’s announcement of a signed agreement between the City and Howard University regarding a new hospital. “Clearly we are interested in the overall plan, the specific intentions for the array of services to be provided at a new hospital as well as what will remain at Howard, the impact on employees and their collective bargaining agreements, the cost to taxpayers, the ownership mechanism, the commitments for indigent care, the effect on existing hospitals and the impact on resources needed for non-hospital primary care for the residents of DC,” said Williams in a letter to Bobb. Williams reiterated the “urgent” need for Bobb to brief Metro Council leadership.
