Record Turnout At Legislative Reception

This week's vote to override Maryland Governor Ehrlich's vetos of Fair Share Healthcare and the minimum wage increase were the major topic of discussion as a standing-room only crowd jammed Thursday’s Metro Washington Council Annual Legislative Reception. Dozens of area legislators mingled with local labor leaders and activists to discuss issues of interest. With no official program, the event enabled legislators and activists to relax in each other’s company and enjoy the festive atmosphere and catering by Martin’s Crosswinds, whose workers are members of UNITE HERE Local 25. photo by Chris Garlock
