"Looking back over the history of Local 1994 it's clear that aggressive representation and smart bargaining have paid terrific financial benefits for the workers we represent," writes UFCW 1994, Municipal & County Government Employees Organization (MCGEO) President Gino Renne in his report on the local's new website. "The financial benefits are obvious and easy to tally. Over ten years, on average, the workers we represent have seen their wages rise significantly, outpacing inflation. But more important than wages, your union contract sets the boundaries and defines the rules that we all live by on the job." Local 1994 represents employees of Montgomery County Government, the Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission, the Montgomery County Housing Opportunities Commission, the Prince George's County Memorial Library System and First Transit.
