Marc Borbely, William Lockridge and Robert Bobb were endorsed last week by the Metro Washington Council in their races for DC School Board. “Marc Borbely was instrumental in the School Modernization Coalition to get money to improve the physical structure and maintenance of our schools,” said Joslyn N. Williams, President of the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO. “Marc will make a valuable addition to the School Board.” Lockridge “has proved himself a passionate advocate for the schools east of the river and has become a skilled member of the  School Board,” said Williams, adding that “Robert Bobb, with help from the other members of the Board, can guide the School Board through the challenges that Board will face in the future.” Borbely is a former Eastern High School teacher running to represent District III, Ward 5 and Ward 6 on the D.C. School Board, Lockridge is the incumbent District IIII School Board member and Bobb is running for President of the Board. The Metro Council took a “no position” in Independent David Catania’s re-election bid for the D.C. City Council.
