Labor Helping Transitions

Maryland/DC AFL-CIO State Fed President Fred Mason and Metro Council President Jos Williams are among the local labor leaders serving on transition teams. Mason is on Maryland Governor-elect O'Malley’s transition team and Williams is on MD Comptroller Peter Franchot’s team, as well as DC Mayor Adrian Fenty’s transition team. Other labor leaders serving on the O’Malley team are Glen Middleton (AFSCME Council 67), Quincey Gamble (1199 SEIU) and Pat Foerster (MSTA). Local labor leaders and activists on Fenty’s transition team include Williams, Jerry Lozupone (DC Building Trades), Gene Pinder (Laborers) and Fred Allen (GCIU).
