Georgetown Students Rally

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Over forty students rallied at Georgetown on Tuesday to show their support for security guards who begin contract negotiations this week. With chants of "Ain't no power," and "Si se puede," the students marched to the administration building, disturbing the university President and other officials. When asked to quiet down, the students promised to return until the security officers receive a fair contract. Georgetown security guards are fighting for paid sick leave and better security equipment.
