Childcare Providers Rally for Kids Tuesday

Childcare providers, unions and community allies will rally Tuesday at the Maryland State Department of Education’s (MSDE) office in Baltimore, protesting ongoing errors by the state that have left hundreds of family child care providers without pay since as far back as January. The MSDE’s Purchase of Care program is supposed to help parents afford quality child care so they can work and support their families, but childcare advocates say that late payments put services for kids and working families at risk.
