Farmworkers Target Burger King

On the heels of a major victory against McDonald's, the Coalition
of Immokalee Workers has set its sights on Burger King next. Students,
labor leaders, and community activists will target the Chinatown Burger King
this Saturday urging them to follow McDonald’s lead and pay farmworkers a
penny more per pound of tomatoes picked and establish a code of conduct
respecting the rights of farmworkers. A “Fair Food DC” Coalition, composed
of DC area allies, will meet briefly after Saturday’s action to strategize
next steps in the campaign against Burger King. Photo from the
