Turnout Urged for Patient Protection Act Hearing Friday(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

A months-long campaign has finally resulted in a DC City Council hearing being scheduled on the Patient Protection Act on November 8. “This occurred only because of the relentless campaign by nurses and the 40 community, religious, and labor groups that have endorsed this vital piece of legislation,” says NNU Political Organizer Francesca Lo Basso. NNU is urging supporters to turn out for the hearing -- 11am this Friday in Room 500 of the Wilson Building – to “show Councilwoman Alexander that your organization stands with nurses and patients… a crucial step in demonstrating the widespread community support for the Patient Protection Act and for improved patient safety in the District of Columbia.”  RSVP here.
