Monday, November 4, 2013

VA Labor Vote Tomorrow (Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)More than 100 union members door-knocked labor families across Northern Virginia from Stafford County to Winchester on Saturday, urging them to vote Tuesday. After hearing from Metro Washington Council President Jos Williams (right), ARA President Barbara Easterling, Union Veterans Council Director James Gilbert and labor-endorsed candidate for Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid (a union member), the labor activists hit the doors and phones to remind union voters that polls will be open from 6 am to 7 pm Tuesday across the Old Dominion. "We need our members and their families to vote Tuesday to alter the direction in which Virginia's state government has been heading," said NoVA Labor President Daniel Duncan (left). "Turnout will be the key to victory for pro-worker candidates." The NoVA Labor office in Annandale will be open for GOTV activities on Monday (9 am) and Tuesday (8 am).
