Labor Taking No Chances in VA Election
Friday, November 1, 2013(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
With some polls
showing a dead heat in the governor’s race
next Tuesday, labor is mounting a massive
door-knocking effort tomorrow across
Northern Virginia. Starting at 9a, NoVA’s
Labor-to-Labor Precinct Walks will
occur in Annandale, Fredericksburg and
Winchester (click here for addresses).
"Every vote matters to elect Terry McAuliffe
Governor and we also have
several House Delegate candidates who have a
good chance of winning and we want
to help them over the line!" says NoVA Labor
president Dan Duncan. “In
Annandale, we will have Stacey Kincaid, union
member and candidate for Sheriff
of Fairfax County and also Charles Showalter,
host of the Union Edge radio show
joining us to kick off the walk,” says
Duncan. Pastries, coffee and juice will
be available as usual, and as a special treat,
Duncan promises, "our own
union Suzy Q's BBQ is providing lunch: ribs,
pulled pork and chicken.
Fantastic food; join us!" If you are
closer to Winchester or
Fredericksburg, “please join them for a
morning of union fellowship and fun,”
urges Metro Council President Jos Williams, who
will be hitting the doors on
Saturday. photo courtesy Virginia
