Contract Bargaining Begins for Bestway Workers

Workers at the Falls Church, VA Bestway celebrated Monday morning as their employer recognized UFCW Local 400 as their union during a card check at the store.  A week after being fired for organizing, the workers got their jobs back and received full back pay. Bargaining between UFCW Local 400 and Bestway for a contract is scheduled to begin this week. “We look forward to the day when all Bestway Supermercados are union shops,” said  Bestway employee Matilde Reyes. “Thank you to the community for supporting our efforts and standing up for workers rights!” - report by UFCW Local 400; click here for full report.
