Wednesday, October 16, 2013(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
With just three Saturdays
left
before Election Day, NoVA Labor is ramping up labor-to-labor efforts in
Northern Virginia. “Phone banking is scheduled every Monday through Thursday
evening,” reports NoVA President Dan Duncan. “And we can use help during
the
day from those who have been locked out by the government.” Call Dolores at
703-750-3633. Labor-endorsed gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe will be at
the NoVA Labor office this Saturday
morning at 8a sharp to kick off the walks, along with AFT President Randi
Weingarten. “Turnout will be the key to electing pro-worker candidates,”
Duncan
adds. “We need as many volunteers as possible these next three Saturdays to
get
the message to our members.”
