Support Your Local Labor FilmFest(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)If you live anywhere in metro Washington DC, or are planning to visit the area, this is a bad time to visit any of our nation’s monuments or museums – shuttered by the shutdown — but it’s a great time to catch a labor movie. The 13th annual DC Labor FilmFest kicks off today with a free showing of “Brother Outsider: The Story of Bayard Rustin” at the AFL-CIO, then moves to the American Film Institute in Silver Spring for a series of screenings that run October 11-17. But even if you don’t live here, I want to encourage you to either support your local labor film festival, or start one in your community...click here for the rest of DC Labor FilmFest Director Chris Garlock's blog post on Working America's Main Street blog
