Friday, September 27, 2013

Film: (Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)As the U.S. economic crisis grinds on, the widening gap between the rich and the poor has gained unprecedented public awareness. In the new, award-winning documentary “Inequality For All” – opening tonight at the E Street Cinema, Bethesda Row Cinema and Angelika Mosaic Fairfax -- UC Berkeley professor and former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich explores how today’s  extreme inequality has roots in economic and policy changes that began over 30 years ago. Newly-shot and archival footage and innovative graphics explain how we got here and where we’re headed if we don’t act soon. The film is punctuated by moments that reveal Reich’s unwavering passion to return our society to one in which the American dream is possible for everyone. On October 1st at 7:15 at the E Street Cinema and October 3rd at 7:10 at Bethesda Row Cinema, the screenings will be followed by a Q&A session focusing on how local issues play into the national crisis.
