Labor FilmFest: Compelling Stories Offered, Hosts Wanted(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

“More and more, it seems the studio movies that make their way to multiplex theaters are about fantasy and special effects,” writes Rachel Gorlin. “But some of us go to the movies for compelling stories about the way real people live, play -- and work. Those films are what the DC Labor FilmFest is all about, and that's why I look forward to it every fall.” This year's DC Labor FilmFest – coming up October 11-17 -- is celebrating 13 years of bringing films about work and workers to the silver screen; click here to tell us what you love about the FilmFest and you could win a pair of free tickets! Also, we’re looking for a few Takoma Park/Silver Spring folks to host visiting labor filmfest organizers, some of whom are traveling from as far away as Israel and South Africa for the 3rd annual International Labor Film Festival Organizer’s Conference on October 12. Hosts get passes to any DCLFF films you want! Email cgarlock@dclaborarchives.org if interested.
