NoVA Precinct Walks Kick Off Saturday(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)While urging area activists to “honor Dr. King, Brother Randolph and the others who bravely set the proper course 50 years ago” this Saturday, NoVA Labor Federation President Dan Duncan asks “those who can, please come to Annandale and honor those who marched in 1963 by knocking on doors in Northern Virginia to remind our union members that the right to vote needs to happen in November.” NOVA Labor’s precinct walks kick off at 8:30a Saturday. “ We have a fine team of endorsed candidates who will not let Virginia become the new Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana or Ohio,” Duncan says. “So if you aren’t marching in DC, please walk in Virginia on August 24.” He also notes that “SEIU 512 is looking for some rooms to rent for sisters and brothers coming to Northern Virginia to help in the Labor GOTV as well as for union brother and endorsed House of Delegates District 50 candidate Richard Cabellos.” Call Julie Emery at 571-419-3704 if you can help. photo: 2012 NoVA Labor Walks; photo by Chris Garlock
