Pressure Mounts On Gray to Sign LRAA

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The campaign to urge DC Mayor Vincent Gray to sign the Large Retailer Accountability Act has gathered steam over the past month, as more than 20,000 have signed  a petition, called or emailed the Mayor. "He has been feeling the pressure, but still has not said that he will sign the bill when it gets to his desk," says Respect DC Organizer Mike Wilson. Respect DC's door-to-door canvass has been "extremely successful," Wilson adds, "9 out of 10 people we talk to support the bill and sign our petition and many call the Mayor on the spot."
