Berger-Marks Award Nominations Due

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)The labor-backed Berger Marks Foundation has set an August 16 deadline for nominations for its annual Edna Award, honoring a young woman leader “who has made an extraordinary contribution to social justice early in her career.”  The nominations are online only. The Edna Award honors Edna Berger, the foundation’s namesake and an early organizer for The Newspaper Guild, in Philadelphia.  Nominators should cite the woman’s current work and tell how her ongoing work will significantly improve the lives of all workers.  Nominees must be no older than 35 by the end of 2013.
