Iron 5 Cycle Club Raises $16K for Diabetes Research

The Iron Workers Local 5 Motor Cycle Club presented a check for $16,000 to Dollars Against Diabetes at the local’s July union meeting, the proceeds of their 2013 DADS Day Poker Run. The club has raised nearly $200,000 for diabetes research in its 11-year history. In other Local 5 news, four of the local’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Center (JATC) instructors -- James Hale, James Yuhase, Chris Bennett, and Scott Christensen -- recently earned their Qualified Instructor Certificates, the culmination of 200 hours of professional and technical training for the past five years. - Lynne Hammar
