JUFJ Paid Sick Days Campaign Heats Up(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)“Our summer of action on Paid Sick Days is off to a hot start,” reports Jews United for Justice (JUFJ). “We've already recruited three new businesses to support the campaign - Flava in Shaw, Pleasant Pops in Adams Morgan andWydown Coffee on U Street - all of whom support the Paid Sick Days for All campaign” In advance of introducing legislation expanding DC’s Paid Sick Days law to restaurant workers in September, JUFJ is distributing "tip cards" (left) to help area activists get the word out to managers and owners “anywhere you eat or drink out,” says JUFJ’s Monica Kamen. Email her at monica@jufj.org to get a supply of cards. The first organized outreach action will be Sunday July 7, at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival from 2-5pm; click here to sign up for this and other outreach this summer.
