This Just In: Large Retailer Accountability Act Passes 1st Reading

The Large Retailer Accountability Act (LRAA) passed first reading at the DC City Council late Wednesday afternoon, with an 8-5 vote. The bill would cover companies that do more than a billion dollars in business and whose stores are 75,000 square feet or more. The 8 yes votes were Mendelson, Barry, Bonds, Evans, Graham, Gross, McDuffie, Orange; the no votes were Alexander, Bowser, Catania, Cheh and Wells. Second reading is expected in July.
