Union Plus Scholarship in honor of Dr. King's March

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)In honor of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, Union Plus and the AFL-CIO are offering one-time $5000 scholarships to help high school seniors realize their dreams and obtain a college education. A minimum of 50 scholarships will be awarded. The scholarship is for college freshman, those entering their first year of college or trade school in the Fall of 2013. Current and retired members of an AFL-CIO union, their spouses and their dependent children are eligible, as well as grandchildren of current or retired members, and current members of a community organization.
