UFCW 400 & 1994 Lobby on Immigration Reform, ACA (2)(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Leaders and members of UFCW locals 400 and 1994 were on Capitol Hill this week, lobbying on key issues, including immigration reform, fixing the Affordable Care Act and opposing the Agricultural Guestworker Act. The UFCW supports “principled, comprehensive immigration reform that treats all immigrants with respect and dignity,” and is urging the White House to recognize Taft-Hartley funds as Qualified Health Plans, and says the Agricultural Guestworker Act would “replicate the worst elements of past programs.” Among others, they met with Maryland Congressman John Sarbanes (second from left in bottom photo). - photos courtesy UFCW 1994 and Rep.
