Labor On The Move: Terese Bouey Retires

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Terese Bouey, Assistant Director in the AFL-CIO’s Campaigns Department,
retired on May 31. Her work with AFL-CIO affiliates focused on building
capacity, allied support and direct assistance for affiliate and national
campaigns and local labor movements for the past 17 years. Bouey has
worked as an organizer for 35 years, beginning her work in the labor movement at
the AFL-CIO as an Assistant Director in the Organizing Department in 1996.
Prior to that, she worked as a national union organizer for the Service
Employees International Union (SEIU) after having worked as a state director and
community organizer for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform
