Day of Action to Save the Tribune

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)With the Koch brothers eyeing the Tribune newspapers (including the LA Times, Baltimore Sun, and Chicago Tribune), labor activists are calling on the Tribune Company to refuse to sell the paper to “radical right-wingers” (Guild & CWA Call on Tribune to Protect Newspapers' Integrity UC 5/1/2013). Today the AFL-CIO and SEIU will join CWA and the Newspaper Guild, which represents newspaper workers, for a national day of action. Saying “we need real news, not right-wing Tea party propaganda,” DC activists will rally at noon at the Tribune Company’s local television station WDCW-TV (DC 50), at 2121 Wisconsin Ave NW.
