Solidarity Center Report: 73 Million Young Workers Jobless; Thai Factory Fire Commemorated

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Around the world, 73.4 million young workers will be jobless in 2013 and the number of unemployed young workers is likely to increase through 2018, according to a new International Labor Organization report. In Hong Kong, survivors of last's year's Tazreen fire in Bangladesh, other workers injured on the job, and safety rights activists are holding a press conference today to mark the 20th anniversary of the Kader Factory fire in Thailand, which killed 188 workers, and the current dismal state of workplace safety in Asia.
