Union Cities Mobilizer Closing in on Walk Goal(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)“Great idea; walk, vacation and fundraise all at once!” says CWA’s Carrie Biggs-Adams about Union Cities Mobilizer Chris Garlock and his wife Lisa’s upcoming 200-mile walk (Union Cities Mobilizer's 200-mi UK Walk to Raise Funds for CSA's Emergency Assistance Fund 4/17 UC) across England to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary and raise money for the MWC Community Services Agency's Emergency Assistance Fund, which assists hundreds of DC-area families annually with emergency financial needs. With his trek just a few days away, Garlock has raised nearly half of his $1,000 goal . “Many thanks to Chris for this innovative way to raise money for our fund and help needy area families while having a dream trip at the same time!” says Community Services Agency Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy.
