Monday, May 6, 2013

Free Screening of (Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)In the new documentary "War on Whistleblowers," – screening free tonight at 6:30p at Busboys & Poets -- there's a moment where one of the men featured in the movie wonders, "If not me, then who?" If Franz Gayl, a Marine Corps science advisor, hadn't exposed the delays in getting troops in Iraq armored vehicles, how many more men and women would have needlessly died from roadside bombs? If brave public servants like Thomas Tamm, a Justice Department attorney, hadn't blown the whistle on the government's illegal wiretapping, would we have ever known about the gross violation of our civil liberties? Tamm will speak at tonight’s free 6:30p screening, co-sponsored by the DC Labor FilmFest and the Project on Government Oversight.
