DC COPE Report: DC Special Election

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Early voting has already begun in the DC Special Election on April 23. There are only two items on the ballot: the At-Large City Councilmember and Question 8: DC Budget Autonomy. The Metro Council has elected to make no endorsement in the At-Large race, but stands with Council ally DC Vote in supporting a “yes” vote on Question 8, which would allow the DC government to spend local tax revenues without having to wait for congressional approval.
