OPEIU 2/AFGE Collecting Clothing/Home Goods for Martha's Table(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)OPEIU Local 2’s Community Service Committee is organizing a clothing/home goods drive during the month of April to benefit Martha’s Table. This DC-based organization helps 1,100 people a day with the immediate effects of poverty and finds long-term solutions with education, nutrition and family support services. “Martha’s Table addresses emergency needs with food and clothing programs and breaks the long cycle of poverty with education and family strengthening programs,” says Local 2. Martha’s Table also runs Martha’s Outfitters, which provides free clothing, linens and household items to individuals and families in need. Through Friday, April 26, OPEIU Local 2/AFGE will be collecting clothing and home goods, which can be brought  to AFGE (80 F St., NW Washington DC) and delivered to Chelsea Bland (10th floor), Caniesha Washington (11th floor), Cameron Barron (8th floor) or Sydney Glass (10th floor).
