Labor Photo: Wings Iron Workers Picket JBG

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Striking iron workers picketed Tuesday morning outside the Chevy Chase headquarters of JBG, the local real estate development company. On strike against Wings Enterprises since 2009, the workers and their union, Iron Workers 201, have been trying to meet with JBG to discuss their concerns about Wings’ – a concrete rebar contractor – track record of labor and OSHA violations.  “It’s a long process,” said Juan Carlos Recinos (at left in photo), a Local 201 organizer.
