State and School Workers to Rally in Annapolis Tonight

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Maryland state and university employees will hold a “Respect Our Service” rally in Annapolis at 6p tonight. “State and university employees work hard to provide the vital public services that make Maryland happen," says AFSCME Maryland president Patrick Moran. "And they deserve respect for the public services they provide. Respect our service means passing a budget which funds the pay raise AFSCME members negotiated." Among other legislative priorities, AFSCME Maryland workers want lawmakers to pass measures that would ensure common-sense caseloads, and strengthen workplace health and safety.
