(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Local 1994’s gold t-shirts have been a welcome and frequent sight on picket
lines throughout the region for years and in recent times the local has become
even more creative, including bringing live goats to one rally and parading a
gold-plated toilet at others. Their ability on short notice to mobilize members
for actions at Maryland congressional offices during the 2012 fiscal cliff
campaign — as well as other campaigns in Montgomery County — continue to
make Local 1994 a Streetheat leader.
