CWA Reaches Tentative Agreement with AT&T Mobility(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)Over the weekend CWA reached a tentative agreement with AT&T Mobility. The contract would cover 22,000 customer service representatives, technicians and retail store workers, including members of Local 2336 in DC, Local 2222 in Northern Virginia, and Local 2107 in Maryland. Highlights of the tentative agreement include a $1,000 lump sum payment for all current employees at contract ratification, increased severance pay, and new language stating that the company agrees to maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. Members "seem to be pretty happy with it," says CWA 2336 President Brenda Savoy, who is particularly "pleased that some of the safety issues have been addressed."
